Travel Bucket List – updated

Categories Blog, Uncategorized

So my big holiday this year that I had been looking forward to for ageeees is now over (sob) and it’s time to think about where I want to travel to next (yippee!). So, due to the fact that I have just finished university and my budget is probably going to be a little tighter, I’m thinking that cheap city breaks are probably going to be on the cards for a little while, which I am perfectly happy with as I happen to love city breaks! Since my last bucket list post I have managed to travel to many of the places that were on my list. As I travel more and tick more places off my list, I actually find myself adding more places that i’ve never thought about going to before. My previous list looked as follows:

  • The Inca Trail, Peru
  • Venice
  • Marrakech
  • Bali
  • Berlin
  • New Zealand
  • Thailand

As you can see I made quite good headway on my list and so wanted to re-think where I really want to go next/in my lifetime. Obviously, the places that I have yet to conquer still stand, I just really like making lists!

Petra, Jordan

I have yet to make it to the Middle East and think that Jordan would be a really great place to start. For obvious reasons Petra would be somewhere that I would love to visit. I think standing in the middle of the ancient city would be out of this world and as someone with an avid interest in History, I think it would offer some very interesting information.

India (Feb 2018)

India’s rich and diverse culture is what inspires me to travel here. I would like to maybe travel around the country and take in everything that it has to offer, from the stunning temples like the Taj Mahal to the exquisite wildlife and scenery. I would love to see animals like elephants and monkeys in their natural habitat as well as experience the hustle and bustle of city life.

Jamaica

I have never been to the Carribean and would love to experience both the culture and its climate! I would love to visit during Carnival as it would be a once in a lifetime experience and very cool to witness. I would also quite like to have a look at their marine life as I’ve heard their coral reefs are something else.

Krakow (May 2018)

Being of Polish descent, I have actually only spent one day in Poland in my entire life, which was when I went to visit Auschwitz.

Cuba

Cuba has always interested me thanks to their infamous history and the likes of Che Guevara and Fidel Castro. I just like the romantic idea of drinking lots of rum with a cuban cigar in hand (I don’t actually smoke). Judging from picture i’ve seen, it’s also a very pretty country and has managed to maintain it’s heritage against the rise of Western culture.

Iceland

I know we are only in August but I also like to visit colder countries, and after visiting Norway this winter I’ve gotten the taste for it. With tourist attractions like the Blue Lagoon and the , I think Iceland would be really fun to visit, despite the expense.

Ibiza

It’s time to partayyy! Not only is this little island world reknowned for it’s partying and night life, it also makes for a very pretty and relaxing holiday destination. I say it’s got the best of both worlds and would love to experience it whilst i’m still young.

Budapest (December 2017)

I love Europe (f*** you Brexit). I may be biased but I really do think it’s a very diverse continent and for me it’s very cheap to travel to. I have never been to Hungary, or much of Eastern Europe at all and would love to experience another city.

Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania

After completing the Inca Trail this July, i’ve caught the trekking bug and can’t wait until I can go on another multi-day hike. I think Kilimanjaro is something to aim towards and would provide a real sense of achievement if I managed to complete it. It would also only be the second time I have been to Africa and that’s really exciting!

So here it is, my newly updated bucket list, how exciting!? Hopefully I can start to get some of my destinations ticked off in the next few years as I don’t think I;m going to get rid of my travel bug any time soon.

Have you been to any of these places? Let me know what you thought!

  1. I’ve been to Jamaica and if you do the Rainforest Walk near Dunn’s River Falls, be aware the last part is silk spiders! Ahh I didn’t know about those until I looked up! :O
